Tip the Iceberg ~ this an that....

QA America was established in 2007. However that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There was a lot of hard work going on before that dream could be realized. In the begining controls were only seen in computer environmental equipment as specifications for tighter and tighter control increased. Huge computer rooms with the total capacity less than that of a standard desktop computer today were all the rage. During this time I had worked my way through the mechanical side of the computer room revolution up to owning a computer room environmental business. As all things go the market began to change with the advent of AT series computers. I was blessed to be offered a manager position for a worldwide manufacturer of computer room and close tolerance equipment. Here new technology was being born.  Programming was being written to EEPROM chips and close tollerance mechanical equipment went under computer control. All with an AT series desktop computer and some brilliant risk takers.
The areas where commercial and industrial controls could be applied was astonishing. The technology just had not quite arrived. Over the next 10 to 12 years manufacturers and controls progressed slowly but steadily. Manufacturing was limited to a few and systems were closed and proprietary.

The Revelation Had Really Just Began….

A new era began with the advent of the Neuron ® Chip from Echelon® (which today is Adesto) Open Systems and the formation of LonMark®. In this new era manufacturers both large and small began development and programming for Building Automation on an even playing field and imagination was king. After 30 years in the commercial mechanical field things were changing at a rate never before seen.
The question was who to align with that would be standing and pushing the new envelope 10, 15, 20 years down the road. If you’re going to bet all the eggs, make sure they are in the right basket. For us, it had to be the people behind the product. It was my great fortune to hear where visions were going at Quantum Automation. After very little discussion we hopped on the next plane to Singapore. Here we meet three of the most wonderful people of our lives Jimmy Chua, Ching Ling and Roberto De Jesus. The heads of Sales, Installation, Engineering and owners of Quantum Automation Asia.
Before we knew it, we had chosen.
For over a decade we have provided the products and services needed for building owners and contractors alike. The development and ever changing world of Commercial Building and Industrial Automation drives us to this day. In Memory of ~

This is my friend and mentor Jimmy Chua.  Jimmy was also greatly admired by my son for his kindness and great attention given to their friendship.  They were "buds".  He was just being Jimmy and everyone loved him for it.
We lost Jimmy at the beginning of the pandemic. 
I am sadly taken back.
